We're continuing our Barefoot series this week! While we've covered Going Barefoot in Your Kitchen, and Going Barefoot in Your Living Room, this week we're going to cover going barefoot in your bathroom. While there are many floorings types that are perfect for your bathroom, and we'll cover those - we also want to cover some flooring types that AREN'T good in your bathroom. As your Lake of the Ozarks flooring shop, we have a few suggestions to get your new bathroom renovation started on the right foot.

Bathroom Flooring DON'TS

While there are some flooring choices that are better than others, there are some flooring types that are absolutely NOT a good idea in some spaces. In your bathroom, you don't want anything that will warp excessively with moisture, absorb water, or become damaged from humidity or moisture. That brings us to two carpet types that aren't good in bathrooms:

Carpet

We feel that this should really go without saying, but carpeting in the bathroom was a phase for a short while, and some homes still have it today. There is too much water in the bathroom to make it a practical flooring choice for your home. Carpet in the bathroom is also virtually impossible to keep clean.  Let our team show you a much better choice for this space!

Solid Wood

Solid wood floors may look beautiful in your bathroom, but they are not a great choice. The dampness in this space can cause the tongue in groove of the flooring to warp and crack. You can invest a lot of money in the flooring, and have it needing to be replaced in just a short amount of time.

Bathroom Flooring DO'S

Linoleum

Whether you choose a sheet linoleum or a linoleum tile, this type of flooring is great for repelling water. Though, keep in mind that if you choose a linoleum tile, you'll want to keep in mind that the more seams you have, the more openings there are for water.

Vinyl

Are you looking for a great choice for heavily used bathrooms? Vinyl is one of the best choices you can pick that is const effective, attractive, and practical. Vinyl is also easy to install and durable.

Ceramic Tile

Attractive, durable, and water repellent - ceramic tile is a great choice. You have many color choices available in the ceramic tile, but also in the grout as well. At Barefoot Floors, we have some beautiful choices of ceramic tile, and some even have the appearance and texture of wood.
